Transporting participants into an extra-ordinary dimension of suspended concentration, Systema aims to test the inner calm and creativity of the individual in relation to other bodies. It is a playful exploration that evokes metaphors of being and building together, in a present where this practice has been lost.

Sistèma /si·stè·ma/ n. m. [from Late Latin systema, meaning “union, complex,” derived from to put together, unite].

Systemize: To arrange according to an orderly and convenient structure / to tidy up / to organize / to adjust / to place oneself in a given spot / to assume a given position.

In its most general sense, the term System refers to a set of interconnected elements that, subjected to interactions (internal and/or external), react or evolve as a whole, with their own general laws.

“Systema” requires audience participation. The wooden sticks have different heights; they can be taken and placed by one person on the body of another, who is asked to remain in the position they are in without letting the sticks fall, progressively freezing the movement. The person, “trapped” in their own body, perceives it in its total physicality and in its identity-strength.

Trasportando i partecipanti in una dimensione extra-ordinaria di sospesa concentrazione, Systema intende mettere alla prova calma interiore e creatività del singolo in relazione ad altri corpi. Una ricerca ludica che evoca metafore dello stare e costruire insieme, in un presente in cui se n’è persa la consuetudine.

Sistema-re: Disporre secondo un assetto ordinato e conveniente / mettere a posto / ordinare / accomodare / aggiustare / portarsi in un dato posto / assumere una data posizione.

Nel suo significato più generale, il termine Sistema indica un insieme di elementi, tra loro collegati, che, soggetti a interazioni (interne e/o esterne), reagiscono o evolvono come un tutto, con proprie leggi generali.

“Systema” richiede la partecipazione del pubblico. I bastoncini di legno hanno diverse altezze; possono essere presi e posizionati da una persona sul corpo di un’altra, a cui viene richiesto di fermarsi nella posizione in cui si trova senza farli cadere, congelando progressivamente il movimento. La persona, “intrappolata” nel suo corpo, lo percepisce nella sua totale fisicità e nella sua forza identitaria.
