Layer of Skin reflects on the condition of the individual within a society shaped by both material and identity-based consumerism, where bodies, behaviours and cultural models tend to become standardized.

Clothing, aesthetics and social behaviours turn into masks that often do not correspond to an authentic identity. In contrast to this process of homogenization, the work stages a gesture of subtraction: the gradual removal of these symbolic layers.

Within a white and rarefied space, the body undertakes a backward journey toward a more essential dimension, revealing what remains when social constructions are stripped away.

Layer of Skin nasce da una riflessione sulla condizione dell’individuo in una società segnata da un consumismo non solo materiale ma anche identitario, dove corpi, linguaggi e modelli culturali tendono a uniformarsi.

Abiti, estetiche e comportamenti diventano maschere sociali che spesso non corrispondono a un’identità autentica. In opposizione a questo processo di omologazione, il lavoro mette in scena un gesto di sottrazione: la progressiva rimozione di questi strati simbolici.

In uno spazio bianco e rarefatto, il corpo attraversa un viaggio a ritroso verso una dimensione più essenziale, rivelando ciò che rimane quando le sovrastrutture sociali vengono abbandonate.
