HUMANITÅ – this is not a selfieUndertaking a work on ourselves does not necessarily mean working with our own ego; so much less it means doing a self-referential work. Instead, I would say that it means digging into certain points of our soul that we often overlook and it can help us to understand the others and to look beyond what happens outside and inside our being.
Have you ever dug underneath that surface called skin to discover your true nature? The generation in which we live is increasingly stuck in a sort of compulsive consumerism; especially under the aesthetic pro- file, there is a run-up to be someone else or something else. According to me, it is urgent the exigence to remove the mask that everyone wears in order to realize that, behind that superficial layer, there is a wonderful universe called “being”. And “being” is a precious com- modity, like gold. It is the only weapon that can protect us, the only pen able to write our history and safe- guard our uniqueness. Humanitä – this is not a selfie” becomes the spokesperson of a profound reflection on being and having, on the magnificent and the ordinary, on the real and the imaginary, on the coherence and the contradictions that have characterized our humanity during the centuries. This work talks precisely about this or about whatever you want to see in it.

Intraprendere un lavoro su se stessi non necessariamente vuol dire lavorare con il proprio ego ne tantomeno fare un lavoro autoreferenziale, direi piuttosto che significa scavare in punti della propria anima che spesso sorvoliamo e questo può aiutarci a comprendere gli altri, a guardare oltre che vedere ciò che accade fuori e dentro il nostro essere.
Avete mai scavato sotto quella superficie chiamata pelle per scoprire la vostra vera natura? La generazione in cui viviamo è sempre più incastrata in una sorta di consumismo compulsivo, in particular modo sotto il profilo estetico c’è una rincorsa ad essere qualcun’altro o qualcos’altro. Urge a mio avviso l’esigenza di togliersi la maschera che tutti indossano per constatare che dietro quello strato superficiale c’è un universo meraviglioso chiamato “essere” e l’essere per sua enstensione è un bene prezioso come l’oro. È l’unica arma che può proteggerci, l’unica penna in grado di scrivere la nostra storia e salvaguardare la nostra unicità. “Humanitå – this is not a selfie” si fa portavoce di una riflessione profonda sull’essere e sull’avere, sul magnifico e sull’ordinario, sul reale e sull’immaginario, sulla coerenza e sulle contraddizioni che nei secoli hanno caratterizzato la nostra umanità. Questo lavoro parla proprio di questo o di tutto quello che volete vederci dentro.
